Meet Our Executive Board
Michelle R. Clarett, President
Michelle R. Clarett has led The Red Zone’s consistent expansion, supporting more than 5,000 families in North and Central Ohio.
A recipient of the YWCA “Woman of the Year” in 2001, she is an avid believer in community service, serving on the Youngstown Boys and Girls Club and the American Red Cross boards.
Currently she acts as the Chief Deputy Clerk to the Youngstown Municipal Court, and is the proud mother of three sons: Michael II, Marcus and Maurice Clarett, and the grandmother of twelve.
Eric C. Ungaro, Chair
Eric C. Ungaro leads The Red Zone by ensuring policy development and procedures align and reflects the interests of our communities.
Combining his first-hand knowledge and understanding of alcohol and drug issues impacting the community at large and desire to be a passionate voice to combat the opiate epidemic, he hopes to cultivate policies that drive healthier communities.
Michael J. Butch, Jr., Vice President
Michael J. Butch offers than 40 years of experience in youth development and education, he actively devotes his time to assisting with the development of dynamic programming to drive The Red Zone’s mission to improve the quality of life of its members.
Butch’s passion for youth and adult mental and behavioral policies was sparked during his tenure as athletic supervisor in 1981. Within his role in throughout the Mahoning county he earned a breadth of knowledge on combating the acute mental and behavioral health needs of youth by addressing key environmental factors instrumental in diagnosis.
Chris Amil, Secretary
Chris Amill offers more than 25 years of experience in social development and drug and alcohol prevention.
As a former Case Manager with the Mahoning County Job and Family Services, he was confronted with the harsh reality of the circumstances families in the area dealt with. He vowed he would use his knowledge and expertise to make a difference in as many lives as he could.
